April 8, 2009 - Theme: Current Epistemological
Debates in the Canadian Literacies Research Community
We consider the debate that has been going on via Email amongst
members of LLRC (Language and Literacy Researchers of Canada) during
the month of February that was spurred by responses to CLLRNet's (Canadian
Language and Literacy Research Network) proposed National Strategy
for Early Literacy (NSEL). I have attached the following 3 readings
for us to discuss at our next study group meeting:
1. A 2-page backgrounder to CLLRnet's NSEL
2. Purcell-Gates & Tierney's Policy Brief to be presented to NSEL
and supported by LLRC.
3. The Email thread (edited for redundancies) of the dialogue/debate
that ensued amongst the LLRC members.
How does MLT fit into this conversation? What might Deleuze say
if he could weigh in on the debate?
