Francis Bangou

He is an assistant professor at the University of Ottawa, where he teaches in the area of Second Language Education. Before settling in Canada, he studied and worked both in France and the United States. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a PhD. in Foreign and Second Language Education. His research focuses on both the implementation of technology in language education, and technological literacies.


His dissertation titled "A situated approach to knowledge construction related to technology-enhanced foreign language teaching and learning for pre-service teachers in a large Midwestern master of education program" investigated the processes by which a group of preservice teachers appropriated technology to teach foreign languages.
Professor Bangou is also interested in the experiences of language learners in European and North American educational systems.
