David
R Cole works as a senior lecturer at the University of Technology,
Sydney,
where he lectures in literacy and pedagogy.
David uses his knowledge in multiple and
affective literacies to investigate areas of social interest. He is
currently researching young Muslims in Australia, and recently arrived
immigrant families in New South Wales.
He has published more than twenty peer-reviewed
articles in international journals such as Educational Philosophy
and Theory, Prospect and Education and Power. He has also produced
three edited books in 2009, called, Multiple Literacies Theory: A
Deleuzian Perspective (Sense Publishers) with Diana Masny, Multiliteracies
and Technology Enhanced Education: Social Practice and the Global
Classroom (IGI Publishers) with Darren Pullen, and Multiliteracies
in Motion: Current Theory and Practice (Routledge) with Darren Pullen.
He published a novel in 2006 called A Mushroom of Glass.
