Principal Researchers

Diana Masny

She is a full professor at the Faculty of Education of the University of Ottawa, where she teaches language learning and literacies. Her research interests include the development of languages and literacies, especially in a minority setting. Recently, she contributed as an expert on the Think Literacy Success project. The aim of this project was to address the acquisition of literacy competency needs of exceptional high school students.

For several years now, Diana Masny has devoted considerable time to the development of a theory of multiple literacies. Her research in this field has gained the attention of several governmental and parapublic institutions. For example, Alberta Learning adopted multiple literacies theory for teaching French at the preschool level.
